Default write permissions

Hi all, please help me with a small problem I have, I cannot add any items to my cart and was told it could be write permissions so I have looked up posts about that and have set the files and folders that need them.
But am still not able to add items to my cart so please tell me what else it could be or what files and folders I should be setting to make sure I have set the right ones.

In admin, configeration settings, sessions...check the following and see if you are set up this way:

Session Directory /tmp
Check SSL Session ID False
Check User Agent False
Force Cookie Use False
Check IP Address False
Prevent Spider Sessions True
Recreate Session True

Second check the includes config php and make sure you have your cookie domains set correctly = "www.yourdomain.com" on both HTTP and HTTPS cookie domain

Ok I have checked them all my
Prevent Spider Sessions True
Recreate Session True
were set to false but have them set to true now, and is still same problem am not able to log in either it always comes up welcome Guest, and have checked the config files as well.
Is there anything else that I could be missing,
I seen on another post about accepting cookies as some times I empty my cookies folder but registered again but still same problem.
