Customer adding a text message?

Hi,

Is there a way I can add a text box to the website? I currently sell t-shirts and I would like a way for a customer to type in a custom message to be printed onto the t-shirt..

Hi,

I have been pointed to the 'Option Type' contribution which I think will do everything I need.

Perhaps someone can post a smidgeon more of a clue?

The 'Option Type' is supposed to be built into 1.7, but I can't seem to find any way to add a text field where a customer can specify monogramming, personlization, or as fireburst wanted, a custom message to be printed on the t-shirt....
