Can I remove column_right.php from static pages?

Hi there,

I would like to have the right hand column on most of the pages in my store but not on some of the static pages. I have tried copying main_page.tpl.php and calling it something different, adding it to the filenames.php and changing the "requires" statement in the new main_page .php file to not have the column_right.php, then change the requires statement in the static page php file but this didn't work.

Anybody any clues please?

look at the way column_right.php controls which boxes are displayed...use this type of if/else in the main_page.php to tell it when to display and when not to the column_right.php depending on what you need on a page.
