    Default Dynamic Attributes

    Hello,
I'm setting up my store (Shoes) and I have a question regarding dynamic attributes. I'd like to have the users select the appropriate shoe size, and then only display the colors that are in stock for that size. Right now all the colors are showing and if a user selects a combinatin that does not exist, an alert message pops up warning that the combination select is not in stock . . . very hit or miss and could be very annoying to shoppers. has anyone solved this issue? and ideas other than creating every size with a color attached to it?

I dont want to do this:
    7 - Black
    7 - Brown
    7 - Blue

The colors should be dynamically populated into the drop down based on the size selected.

    Thanks in advance,
    OSCMAC Newbie

Not that this is a solution to your question - but more of a suggest for your store setup - in your shoe shop senario would a shopper not really only want to see a single size?

What I am trying to say is if I am say a size 10 would I not want to simply look at all your size 10 shoes? This way I do not have to find a shoe I like and find it doesn't come in a 10.

    A categories structure such as:

    Size
    -- Colour
    ---- Shoes

Would make sense and get you neatly round the in/out of stock for attributes of products.

Add in the use of Manufacturer for Brand and you should be able to find pretty much everything quickly and easily.

    Regards,

I'm also wondering this myself. My store is apparel, so I can't set it up by size :-/
