Stock Management Module

Hi, I have a website that uses oscmax as the backend. How do I manage the stocks using the admin panel? The products page only shows a button option for 'in stock' or 'out of stock'. However, If i opt for 'out of stock' the product dies not show in the website gallery. I need the product to show irrespective of whether it is in stock or not. Also I need to put in a starting stock quantity. How do I do this? Thanks for your help!

Admin, Configuration, look at Product stuff for stock settings.
Stock is managed using a facility called QTPro. When adding in products, there is a stock button on the RHS.
