Customize Center Section on Main Page

I have looked and search all over this forum and cannot find much about customizing the Center section Main Page. I want to add some static text or graphics under the Welcome message. What is the best way to do this? I cannot get anything to show up in it...

um, don't quote me, but I think you can do it through the admin. Somewhere there I'm pretty sure there is a link called define main page.
Yup, it's there I just looked for ya. log into your admin and go to catalog>define main page
