PayPal IPN confusion

On the paypal FAQ :

the question is: My customer does not have a PayPal Account. Can my customer still send a payment?

how do i acheieve this? everytime i check out it goes to a paypal a/c sign in page. What if the user does not have paypal a/c ? i lose the customer?
or am i missing something?

You have to install an option (another payment module) to pay by another method - like COD/CHECK/FAXINFO or other.....

If you ONLY accept the one method then if the customer does not want to use that - you can't make him use it. Offer a choice.

If they STILL go ahead with PAYPAL and do not have an account - PayPal will STILL allow payment by allowing them to create an account and pay by credit card to PayPal (I think).

I don't use PayPal myself and personally would not use there service for getting goods for myself.
