Default Price Breaks -- Were they removed from MAX?

Hello,

We had created and populated a store using osCommerce (MS2.2). We saw the MS2-MAX implementation and decided that, before we went live, we would upgrade to that.

My understanding is that MAX is osC MS2.2 with a whole bunch of useful mods added. However, in the product entry area, we can't find the price break info. We had used that feature extensively in the osC version and figured that the MAX version would leave that info intact.

Is the feature still available?
If so, how do we access it? (The option no longer exists on the product screen and the fields seem to have been eliminated.)

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

George

Hello again,

Actually ran into another issue -- the 'enlarged' product image is coming up empty. (It worked fine before we converted) and it led me to wonder -- Is there a list of the changed behavior from the 'stock' osCommerce MS2.2? I don't mean the functionality of the new contributions -- they're great -- but a list of things that may have worked with the stock system that either don't work anymore, or will need tweaking? I feel like I'm running around in circles looking for the answers through all the forums and I'm hopeful there's some documentation somewhere.

Thanks for your help,

George

i had a similar problem with the enlarged images. its most likely because of the dynamic mopics mod. in admin->configuration->dyanimc mopics is a option at the bottom called "mo pics big image type". u have to set this to whatever kind of images ur using. i use jpgs, and the default is gif, so i had to change it. another qwerky thing i found ... now if only someone would help me with my problems ... *sigh*

btw, what do u mean by price break? like on sale items?

Hi,

And thanks for the info. I'll check that out right away.

[edit -- just checked and you were right. I didn't think that settings from that contribution would impact if I wasn't explicitly using it. Your suggestion worked]

As to the price breaks: Several weeks ago we downloaded the 'stock' MS2.2 from osCommerce, installed it, entered some products, and spent some time getting up-to-speed. One of the built-in features (found on the product entry page under admin) was the ability to set price breaks based on quantity. [edit -- see msasek's comments below. I was mistaken about this.]

Like the issue you helped me with, I'm happy to make the tweaks and adjustments necessary, I just need a little direction to know what's been changed and should (or shouldn't) work.

Sounds like I'm griping. I'm not. This is an extraordinary project and the support from the community is amazing. I just need to know what is gained/lost when you take the stock osCommerce code and add all these mods and I can't seem to find it documented.

Thanks again for you help!

George

gbmilner, you are mistaken. A stock version of MS2 does not have the quantity price break feature. To confirm, I just downloaded and installed a stock MS2 store from scratch, and there is no such feature in MS2. That is why it is not in MAX either. You did not have a stock version if you have quantity price breaks.

Hi msasek,

Sorry about that. I was under the impression that I had a stock version (or that nobody here installed any contributions. I must be wrong. Sorry about the extra work you went through to check it out.

I will be trying to adapt the MS2-MAX system to incorporate a price-break contribution, and if I get it working, I'll post the 'how-to' onto this thread.

Thanks for your help. I thought I was going nuts.

George
