CATEGORIES BOX does not display categories list

I asked this before and I was pointed to the index.php however, I replaced my altered index.php file with the original one that came in the box and I still don't get my categories list back. The box shows up and so does the title, but the actual list does not. It does show up when the same pages come through the https server.

Are there other files I should be looking at to correct the problem?
What coding should I be looking for in these files?

Do you have caching on? Try turning it off...
