downloading an .exe

For Downloads, I can get the downloads working when I use a .zip but I am having problems when I download a .exe

the admin is at ./admin login and password as per normal

Its a Test site!

Can someone tell me how to get the .downloads working?

Looks like a problem with mozilla. You need to tell mozilla what an exe file is, so it knows what to do with it.

its that the downloads directory wasn't 777

No - it has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING on your web server at all. It has everthing to do with your local computer browser.

From what I can see Mozilla seams to run fine.

Mozilla more than likely does not want to RUN any executable file directly (as it could contain: Spam bot, Spy ware, hacker tools, virus, A Package from G.W.Bush.....stuff that you may not want) - as it stated - save the program file then you may run it - if you wish too.
