Default Do I have to un-install what I'm using first

if I want to try out ms2-max? I've currently got ms2 oscommerce just the basics, I've only had it for a few days (on a local install) with apache 2.0.47 mysql and phpmyadmin.

Can I just go ahead, d/l and install max or should I delete what's there?

    thanks in advance!
p.s I would have started with max had I know it existed!!!!

It is best to delete what is there and start fresh. That way you will not have extra unused files or junk hanging around...

If you want to "compare" it then you could install it in a diffent directory than "catalog" - like "ms2max" and use a differnt MySQL database.

I would not really install MAX on to an existing database/install - unless you had alot of history/information already entered. Easier to start from scratch.

I run a min of 4 OSC verion/shops at one time in my localhost test and have run as many as 8.

    Good Luck

How are you loadin it the the browser? http:\\localhost\ or http:\\localhost\catalog\

Just install it as c:\web\ms2-max\ then load it as http:\\localhost\ms2-max\
(sub "catalog" with "ms2-max" or what every you want to setup as.)

    Yes - I have 9 version right now... c:\www\max (http:\\localhost\max\),c:\www\max-test (http:\\localhost\max-test\),c:\www\ms2-max (http:\\localhost\ms2-max\),c:\www\catalog (http:\\localhost\catalog\),c:\www\max18(http:\\lo calhost\max18\),c:\www\maxtest (http:\\localhost\maxtest\),c:\www\cvs (http:\\localhost\cvs\),c:\www\zen (http:\\localhost\zen\), and more...

Add as many as you want to work with....

Some are running on the same database.
