Default Mopics .... my turn.

It goes like this, I installed the latest 1-5-5 version of MAX with the sample data. There is one item in the printers category called something like Dynamic MoPics 1100xi printer. This item showed correctly having all the thumbs showing as well as the dynamic mopic thumbs and the large image when you click to enlarge.
I then went into admin to look at the item and mopic settings, I looked at the actual location of the gif files for this item, and then tried to follow the pattern exactly with a test item.

With my test item, the mopics and large image worked, but the regular thumb did not display! To make things really bad, when I wanted to look at my original sample printer item, it too stopped showing the regular thumb -- only the mopic thumbs work.

So, what changed? Nothing I did. Maybe a bug? Maybe a corruption in the database?

In NetScape, when you right-click on the undisplayed thumb image, it says it could not show the ...../images/thumbs/abc.gif image because it contains errors!

Please help me with this one!?

Thanks!
Jan

Default Just duplicated this ...

I took an out-of-the-box 1-5-5 installation on another computer, I looked at the sample printer that had mopics attached to it, and it worked. I then made a backup of the database, went into the printers category and added a test item with the exact same path and gif image (copied the sample printer's image path) and when I previewed the item in Admin, it did not show the thumb. So I viewed the catalog store front and neither the test item, nor the sample printer thumbs showed, just the mopics!

I then restored the database to it's original state and still the thumb does not work!

This is obviously a very weird bug!

jan_mull1, it is not a bug. Read the mopics setup thread here. It has been tested over and over and over. No bug there. It works 100% of the time whenever I test it, and if I go to your admin and create a product, it will work too. Most likely the mopics settings, or where you are putting the images. If it worked, then didnt, you changed something.

I know you said you didn't, but things cannot change by themselves. The only way for the extra pics to stop working is either they are gone, or the path set in the admin mopics section was changed, or one of the other mopics settings.

Believe me, if it was a bug, I would be able to duplicate it, and I cannot.

Default Pics overwritten

I know it porbably is posted somewhere, but my whole problem above with the mopics ended being the fact that when you load the image paths in Admin, it over writes you images with 0kb image files!

That is what changed. Knowing this and reloading my images, everything works great!

Regards
Jan
