Default No database selected!?!

Hi there,
I'm trying to use some SSL features of MS2 (like the checkout, etc.), but my SSL server is different to my non-SSL server which holds my database. Therefore... my user is different to access the database (this is usually localhost), but because I am accessing from another server, the localhost bit is now wrong! I tried to contact my hosting company to ask for the IP address of the server and they say it will not work and nothing can be done about it.
Is there anyway I can get round this? I have never seen the checkout pages (or any other SSL pages!) running, but do they need the database (i'm sure they do)?
Are there any pages I can alter to make this work?

Any help on this one, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hornet.

Just use the name/IP of the server/domain that the database is on. You have to allow remorte connections on your mysql database though.
