| The easiest way to do this: Use EasyPopulate to generate (export) all of the products in your store, then, modify this file using Excel (or similar). Upload the modified file and use EasyPopulate to import the new data. As simple as that ... Good luck |

| I have downloaded a tab-delimited file from easypopulate and modified it in excel, saving the modification as a tab-delimited file. when I try to upload the file back into easypopulate, all I get is error messages. It doesn't work even if I simply put the unaltered file that I downloaded back into it. I think something must be wrong with easypopulate, or I do not have sufficient access priveliges. PLEASE HELP! |

| michael_work2003, do not crosspost. I have removed your other posts on the same subject. Crossposting is not allowed here. To upload the easypopulate file. Save it in excel as a tab delimited text file. Then CLOSE excel or it will not upload. Then go to easypopulate and in the upload file section, broese for your file, then upload. Done. Each product MUST have a unique product number. Each line of the easypopulate file MUST end in EOREOR

| If you dont change all the cells to type "text" excel sometime schanges numbers it see as cuurency but most often it saves them as dates, on save and re-open of the same file you'll get all kinds of changes made on accident. there are certain number combination which i have noticed do this no matter what! for instance product number 1-6077 when put in the model field, even with that cell format is set to text , will turn into feb. 6th 2077 on save. i could never find a reason for this behavior and out of 450 products had 18 with numbers that did this. I eventually had to delete them from the product catalog flat file and make them manually in OSC. I thought it might have been a cell formatting issue but when i replaced the model numbers in the row with ones from another row it didnt do the same thing......who knows...

| I am relatively new to OSCommerce, but I have a lot of experience with comptuers and websites in general, and there must be something I'm fundamentally missing. I have EasyPopulate download a tab delimited text file just fine. I edit just ONE word in the file using notepad (for instance change "Director's Cut" to "Producer's cut" and immediately save it, so i know all the formatting must be correct. I then Upload EP File option, browsing to the file and clicking "Insert in DB". Seems like some processing is happening, but the database is never updated. Never. Also, choosing the "Download to temp driectory" option doesnt producce any files either The /temp diretory remains empty. If someone has a bit of clarifying informaiton, it would be greatly appreciated! thanks! |

| Anything I need to know if I want to add an extra field in the product description table and make it uploadable within Easypopulate? Anyone got any hints? Is it straight forward? Joe |
