Default Just setup MS2Max. What's my email/pass to get into Admin

Hi all,

I have just setup ms2-max and all went well. I am now trying to go into the admin area to start setting up the shop, but don't know what my email / password is ? I didn't assign one anywhere. How do I find out what it is , or is there a default one that I need to use for the first time ?

I tried using the forgot password link to no avail.

Any ideas ?

Mike, you could have just told him. It must have taken as much effort to not tell him.

Sorry newbie, I can't remember otherwise I would have told you. It is something like admin@localhost

msharif, he could have just read the freaking readme. I have answered this question nearly 10,000 times in the last 6 months, when there is NO reason for it. I get sick of it. All people have to do is read the README, I mean that is why it is named READ ME....

You are right, it takes just as much effort to tell them to read the readme, as give the answer, but it also teaches something that giving the answer does not. It teaches them to look through their download for README files. A much more valuable lesson. Posting here should be the last resort, and if you haven't even read the README file included in the distro, I am not going to bother...

This is the last time I respond to a post about this. So here it is:

email: admin@localhost.com
pass : admin

Thanks guys , I read the README back when you told me too. Good to see there's 10000 others in the last 6 months - at least I'm not alone

Mike, I have just installed the latest version of MAX on my test site and I can't get in with that username and password. If you don't believe me try:-

http://www.msharif.f2s.com/catalog/a...action=process

I have also tried variations such admin@msharif.f2s.com and all sorts of others but just can't get in aaarggh!!!

This is MAX 1.5.5. I have been stumped on this for a while but just been too scared to ask.

Please don't crucify me if I have missed the obvious.

msharif, could be a cookie/session problem, or you may not have properly run the install script. Maybe re-run the installer. Make sure you are starting with an empty db when you run the installer.

The default admin password for 1.5.5 is as stated above. If you dont believe me, open up the sql file in the install directory and copy the admin data, then go into the database on your server and insert that data you copied into the admin table.

That default password and email has been the same for about 6 months. If it is not working, you either changed it, used a pre-populated datebase, or did not run the installer.

When I install MAX, I use the same zip file as all of you guys, and I have never once had a single problem with it.

Oh, and I am not in to crucifixions, so you have no worries...

I think the pre-populated database is probably the right answer. Thanks Mike.
