Can New Product Duration Be Changed?

I would like products to display on the front page of my site. Right now it displays new products but they vanish with the change of the month. Is there a way to make them stay indefinately on the front page? I'd like the products I have on the front page now to remain is what I'm getting at.

You should search the forum a little bit, as this has been discussed many times.

You can change a couple of lines of code, so your store will display X last products without even looking at what month they are from (that way if there are no new products on the current month, the new products box won't be empty).

You can do some more changes, and make it display X random products out of the last Y products. That way new products will change every time the page is reloaded randomly.

Or you can install the "featured products" contribution and disable the "new products" module all toguether. With this one you can select from your admin section what are the products you want showing up...

Notice that this is a test store with only a few products. There are only 3 featured products, so you will only see them changing places, but they will always be the same. The new products module I think shows 3 random products out of the 18 latest ones. The modules from top to bottom are special, featured, and new products.
