For months now I have been trying to find a way to sell some items with free shipping. I had previously mentioned in the forum that when someone buys an item with free shipping, to enable free shipping, I had set the weight to o, on both the email receipt and also within the customer's order history online, the customer's shipping info is left balnk with just a comma. What I found was very odd was that for certain items offered free shipping on, when someone purchased these, no only did their receipts and online history display their shipping info, it even had the line free shipping on their receipt. For the life of me I could not figure out why some products displayed perfectly while others the shipping was just blank, today I discovered that all the products that worked properly had at least one selectable product attribute, color for example. So as a test, I took an item that customers regularly ordered that came through with no shipping details, as it was an item with free shipping, added a color attribute to it, did a test order, and all shipping info was there.
With this in mind, can anyone help me to figure out a way so shipping detail will come trhough for all products that I sell with free shipping. I do not like the prospect of manually editing all 500 or so products we sell and add some kind of meaningless attribute to each one so the free shipping problem is taken care of.
I would be very willing to pay someone if necessary for their help.
