Default Checkout skips shipping

Whenever I try to checkout it skips shipping and goes directly to payment screen. I have it set for flat rate and indiv shipping. tried with just flat with same result....please help...

I did a search as you defined and got 7 pages of everything but what I need. I saw the post below mine about the weight, but was wondering if there was a way to set it so I didn't need that, I really don't want to have to update 2500 products. My live site works fine without weight added to products, but it is MS1.

Just because you dont like the answrer doesnt make it the wrong answer. You found the solution in the post below yours.

All your products must have a non-zero weight in order to user shipping. There is no other way. To update the db will take less than 5 minutes. Just replace all the zero weights with '1' through phpMyAdmin. Export the products table to a CSV file. Open it in Excel or other spreadsheet as a CSV text file. Locate the weight field and type '1' into the first record. Drag and fill to the bottom of the table. Save. Re-import. Done.
