PHP 5.3 deprecated function split() has been replaced by preg_split() - this now resolves PHP warning for those who will be using PHP 5.3 in the near future.

This has been performed in all *catalog*/includes/modules/shipping/ files.

For those wishing to update from Chris' package 2.2.0, simply replace your existing *catalog*/includes/modules/shipping/ directory with the one included in this package.
