Michael, I am working on an estimate for a client, upgrade from OSC to the latest OSCMAX. She has bundled products installed as well as several other modifications, most of which have already been integrated into the latest release.
My question is this.. am I best off with a fresh install and use ezpopulate to upload the products or install, add in bundled products THEN do the conversion? But I am thinking I really have to do a conversion to get the customers and old orders moved over as well??
My estimates of install to live, barring any issues with the products being moved over, is about 2 hours.. does that sound right to you??
My order of business is as follows.. see any flaws here??
Download to local PC current shop files
Install the lastest version of cart software in a different folder than the current one
Make a copy of the database and download a copy for safe keeping
Set up new store
Prepare new template with logos etc
Install new template
Add all desired modifications
Put the current shop down for maintenance
Run conversion tool on the original database, importing it into the new store
Move old store to backup location
Move new store to desired location
Set new store live
Test
Thanks..
