This contribution will display a category description under defined category names. If a category doesn’t have sub-categories, it won’t display the description. I made it that way because that is what I needed. I am sure this contribution can be built on and with a little bit of fiddling it could be made into a semi-automated function. Right now you have to insert new conditions and descriptions manually by editing general.php and english.php.
