Post Ship Sensation Insurance

Description.
This contribution will calculate shipping insurance costs for the four major carriers, add shipping insurance cost to the shopping cart total, markup the cost of the insurance per the store owners desired profit level, (checkout – order total) and electronically purchase the insurance from a private shipping insurance company.

Contribution seamlessly integrates with oscommerce.com and enables stores to offer shipping insurance without the legwork and headaches of on-line forms or paperwork. Once installed the contribution will offer insurance on all orders at checkout. If the shopper adds cost of insurance to their basket and completes checkout. The contribution will then buy an actual insurance policy from an insurer (United States only, International Coming Soon) protecting the package/parcel if lost, stolen or damaged during delivery to the buyer.

This is a fully automated shipping insurance contribution (add-on module) that calculates and buys actual insurance policies. There are no fees to get started and you will only be billed for insurance policies purchased.

Insurance Rates & Revenue Engine.
Rates are set by the end-user (“store owner”) creating an additional stream of revenue. Pricing can be set as low as .70c per $100 of insurance to as much as $3.50 per $100. End-user may set shipping insurance as either an 'optional purchase' or 'required purchase' at checkout. Additionally, end-user is paid the insurance premium at the time of checkout, so there's no waiting for commission checks.

Example Revenue Engine / Mark up.
End-user buys insurance at the rate of .70c per $100 and may sell insurance for as much as $3.50 per $100. In this example the end-user will charge $1.50 per $100.

Product Selling Price $499.99
Insurance Cost $7.48 ($499 / $100 = 4.99 X 1.50 = $7.48)
Cost to end-user $3.43 ($499 / $100 = 4.99 X .70c = $3.43)
End-user Net Profit $4.05

In the above example the end-user (“store owner”) turned a $4.05 profit at checkout. On the 16th the end-user will pay the insurance company their premium of $3.43

Billing.
End-user is billed twice monthly (16th and 29th) via credit card for policies purchased within a billing cycle.

Additional Details:
There are no forms or paperwork to complete. Just download and install the module.
Insurance is purchased by end-user when processing customer orders via the administrative control panel. inputing a track. End-user inputs a valid tracking number, date shipped and then clicks “Insure Package” button to transmit the policy order. Quick and easy.
Contribution will electronically transmit the shipping insurance order details via the Internet to a private insurance company who underwrite the policy and provide coverage in the event of a loss.
Buyer pays End-User (“Store Owner”) at time of sale for insurance. The insurance company then bills the end-user their premium.

Product Exclusions.
Televisions and jewelry are non-insurable products. The contribution includes a “Block Product” feature which can be found under Catalog > Products/Categories. To block a product simple click the “Edit” button of the product you wish to block, scroll down and disable insurance with one simple click.
