Smile Table Rate Module by Weight

    Hello community
I am new to this forum & I should first apologise for my bad English.
I wanted to know how to fix my problem with the table rate module by weight.
I sell items mostly at US$ 8.00 base for the registered airmail service.
I have also heavy items that the postal rates for them should be like this:

    1 item postal rate as US$ 10.00
    1 more item postal rate as US$ 4.00 extra or US$ 14.00
    the 3rd item for $ 4.00 extra or $ 18.00
& the last step is US$ 25.00 for the 4th item & onward.

Anybody can help write the modules in the table shipping???

THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE. I APPRECIATE ANY HELP GIVEN.

Question Re: Table Rate Module by Weight

I looks like you don't want shipping by weight but want shipping by quantity.

I have 2 kinds of items in my website shop.
Some are light in weight that I can even send 5 for the same $ 8.00 but there are some heavy ones like Ceramic tiles that 1 costs $ 15.00 shipping & more.
So, it is not a matter of quantity but weight indeed.

First item Plus additional charge by Zones & for specific categories only (v 1)

    http://wiki.oscdox.com/table_rate

    http://wiki.oscdox.com/shipping

You appear to be confusing terms...
    0-5Kg = $10
    5.01-8Kg = $14
    8.01-15Kg = $18
Would be weight based - quantity has nothing to do with it

Search these forums for plenty of examples (some been given by myself)

I have made many searches but not got my answers yet.
Would you please kindly tell me how I should write the way you stated in oscommerce way as this? --> 5:10,5.01:14,8.01:18 ?
    Am I right???
Then for each in the product listing what should I write. Take this example:
If I have an item of 300 grammes & 1 with 200 grammes?
What if an item 1 kg & the second 3 kgs?

    Nearly
    5:10,8:14,15:18

Then for each in the product listing what should I write. Take this example:
If I have an item of 300 grammes & 1 with 200 grammes?
    (a) $10
What if an item 1 kg & the second 3 kgs?
    (b) $10

    If we use this:
    1:10,3:14,5:18,999,24

    0-1Kg=$10
    1.01-3Kg=$14
    3.01-5Kg=$18
    5.01-999Kg=$24

    (a) = $10
    (b) = $14
Anything over 5Kg will be $24

Thanks a lot. Now, I think it is clear but will test it tomorrow & let you know.
The other matter is what if I wanted to add to the table you gave:

    1:10,3:14,5:18,999,24

for the weight of less than 1 kg, should I write it like this? ( 0.300:5.00 ) for weight up to 300 grammes with postage of $ 5.00 ?

Thumbs up Re: Table Rate Module by Weight

You can't mix grammes with kilos or put another way, you can't use decimal fraction amounts, like 0.3, 0.5. You either have to convert to all grammes 3Kg = 3000, or price postage on anything up to 1Kg at the same price.
