Totally new and lost with OSCommerce....

Hi everyone, my name is Susan but many on line call me Sunlite. I am very lost with Oscommerce but am trying very hard to familiarize myself with it. I am basically trying to repair my bosses store after a server move, many files were missing code here and there. I am most familiar with message boards so I'm a little out of my field here but hope to learn, so please bear with me if I ask something you think I should know.

I will try to read through the board now seeking an answer for something else I need to fix. So far I have been able to repair and bring back our missing search, links page, about us page as well as fix our images which were all distorted as well as a few other things.

Sorry to hear you had so many issues moving servers.

Sound like you ether had a custom (hacked?) version --- or you missed some files in the move. I move stores from servers ALL over the globe (including non-English based servers) - never miss any bits of code or have distorted images. (Worse thing is changing DNS lookups - takes up to 48 hours to populate across all of the worlds internet DNS servers....or dealing with older versions of oscmax/osc that are not PHP 5 compatible).

Thanks for the welcome JPF. I have had forums moved from one server to another and never had any issues so this is strange to me to have happen but I have heard it isn't all that uncommon with Oscommerce....

Anyway, my current issue has to do with payment/checkout. On the page that displays the payment info, it also shows:
Payment Method: MODULE_PAYMENT_CC_TEXT_PUBLIC_TITLE

How do I fix this? Kind of lost...

Your MISSING files....Still.... Any time you see SOME_TEXT_LIKE_THIS - your missing some lines or files in the language directories....

HOPFULLY you have a FULL backup of the old server - or it is still online.

IF not:
If you have OSC - download --possably OSCOMMERCE MS2 version (See SourceForge.net: osCommerce: Files )
use a file compare tool - like WinMerge or beyond compare - to see what files are missing.
