    My latest server info has updated to reflect the changes from my php56.ini file as discussed above.

    *I can create a new account and complete a checkout
    *I cannot log back in using the previously created account
    *No session entries are being created in the database
    *I am using the default configure.php settings for sessions which define mysqli

    While testing I found that I can add an item to the cart as a guest and then from one page checkout, it will allow me to log in with the previous account details, navigate teh user account and previous orders, and it created a session entry in my db. Everything else such as shipping values and the admin order entry it created look correct.

    It appears most everything is functioning except the ability to log back into a previously created account and the USPS shipping methods display as "-----"

    Does this shed any light? I can log into admin and everything there seems to work correctly. Any additional ideas why a previously created account cannot log back in to the catalog unless they are on one page checkout with an item in their cart?

    I have found a change in login.php in the "phone order" part that was preventing an existing customer from logging in on my 2.5.5 installation; both on my godaddy host and on my local installation on my Synology NAS.

    The code starting from line 28 of login.php (oscmax 2.5.5) is as follows:

    PHP Code:
      // BOF PHONE ORDER

      //if (isset($_GET['action']) && ($_GET['action'] == 'process')) {

    if ((isset($_GET['action']) && ($_GET['action'] == 'process')) || ((isset($_POST['action']) && ($_POST['action'] == 'process')))) {

    // reset cart if using admin login

    if (isset($_POST['admin'])) {

    $cart->reset();

    $wishList->reset();
        }

    // EOF PHONE ORDER
    I replaced this with the code starting from line 28 of login.php (oscmax 2.5.4) and I can now login as an existing customer:

    PHP Code:
    // BOF PHONE ORDER

      //if (isset($_GET['action']) && ($_GET['action'] == 'process')) {

    if ((isset($_GET['action']) && ($_GET['action'] == 'process') && isset($_GET['formid']) && ($_GET['formid'] == $sessiontoken)) || ((isset($_POST['action']) && ($_POST['action'] == 'process') && isset($_POST['formid']) && ($_POST['formid'] == $sessiontoken)))) {

    // reset cart if using admin login

    if (isset($_POST['admin'])) {

    $cart->reset();

    $wishList->reset();
        }

    // EOF PHONE ORDER
    Now that I have identified the exact code which was preventing an existing customer from logging in to my 2.5.5-dev installation (unless the user has an item and is in the cart, in this case it is allowing login from the checkout.php page), does anyone have any suggestions of what I could possibly change on my Godaddy host, or my Synology NAS local installation? Or is it possible there is an error in this 2.5.5 login.php code?

    Hello OSCMAX users,

    Just checking in to see if there is any life left in OSCMAX?

    I'm running 2.5.5 develop branch with a few low-tech patches to make it work and living with a few bugs I cannot work out myself. I like oscmax but... is there any chance of future development?

    Thanks.

    Red face Re: I'm back - I hope oscmax is too

    I'm actively using 'max and still doing upgrades from the old code base, just to get to 2.5.4!
    Bitbucket and Altassian eludes me however, so any updates/mods that I've come up with have appeared on the forum.

    (This is the first email notification I've received from the forum in years!)

    What is Altassian? I’ve never heard of that before.

    The 2.5.5 dev version I’m using is from bit bucket and required a few tweaks to get it “mostly” functional. .
