google checkout: Failed to Get Basic Authentication Headers

i am using the oscmax google checkout mod: google-checkout-oscmax-v1.4beta1.2, and am getting error:

"Failed to Get Basic Authentication Headers when installing."

Google Checkout for oscxmax is broken and doesn't work.

Start here:

This usually means that you are on a server running php as cgi (fastcgi or suphp), in which case you need to configure it differently.

i dont have php running with cgi on my server though
so that is not the problem
what should the correct apache setting be?

I can't reproduce the error, and GC works fine for me, so I don't think it is the mod that is broken. That error is always a configuration problem with the module according to the googlecheckout group.

I will be reworking it though (there have been a few updates that should be incorporated into the osCMax module). If you are feeling motivated, try to install the osCommerce GC module from scratch.

well if you can rework GC really soon, i can trade you a completely working batch print 3.1.1 for oscmax which works with register globals off and has all the bugs worked out of it, which you will then have it for adding into oscmax. currently batch print 3.1.1 for oscmax is totally broken.

Well now that doesn't seem very right. I give you the entire osCMax package for nothing, and you hold out on me for one mod?

It is on my radar (google checkout) as I just did an installation of it for someone last week and it works fine. I will have go back and checkmy notes to see if there were any issues with the install.
