    Default Required Options / attributes

I have several products that have options / attributes that need to be selected before the items are added to the cart. I have noticed on a couple of orders the customers are simply adding the items to the cart without selecting the options. How do I make the options a required selection?

    Thanks!
    Pete

Try Admin, Configuration, Product Settings, Product Information, Product Info Attribute Display Plugin: sequenced_dropdowns.
Note: this will affect all products with attributes.

    EJ,

Seems to give the notification that options need to be selected if you use "Buy it Now" however, then you can use "add it to cart" without selecting the options and the product is added to cart without and options or notifications.

    Thanks!

If I understand correctly, you are trying to enforce the selection of a particular attribute.
Have you tried the multiple_options plug-in? It's been many years since I last looked at the code but these dramatically change the way attributes work. I thought that the sequenced version enforced attribute selection.
Make sure that you don't have a blank/space-named Option Value, for a given product.

Is there a chance that you are experiencing session/cookie problems?
What version of PHP are you running?

Remove your Option Values named "MAKE SELECTION" and "P MAKE SELECTION".
The system is working, it's your implementation that is wrong.

Thank You for looking at it!

Could you please give me an example of what would work correctly?

    Thanks again!

    v2.5 Products_attributes – osCmax Documentation Wiki

Note: that there are two methods of Attribute Management - I prefer the one mentioned in the wiki.
Re-read my reply. Your example product has an Option Value called "MAKE SELECTION" - there's nothing to prevent a customer from choosing this, so remove it.

At the bottom of the item description you could explicitly say to choose an appropriate option from the dropdown. Or tweak the Attribute selection box text to make it clearer for dumbasses. Example: "Available Options, be sure to select the correct one:"
(Whilst you're at tweaking text, go in and change "Tab1" and "Tab2" to more appropriate descriptions, such as "More Info". Can't see the point of your Tab2 tab, m'self.)
It should be trivial to add a background colour to the attributes box, to further highlight the required info.
