Hello,

What are the differences between MS2-MAX and osCommerce 2.2 MS2 ?
Is is just that MS2-MAX has some contributions installed or are there deeper differences?
I try one at first (I briefly had osCommerce 2.2 MS1 on another server and liked it fine), can I switch to the other without having to do complicated things to my database?

MAX - is just MS2 with alot of the popular and "hard to install" contributions and mods already added into it. It has ALL the features of MS2 with bug fixes.

There is a perl script in the package that can create an ALTER SQL script to change an older OSC database to MS2 or MS2-MAX. Look for/in \extras\mysql_diff\mysqldiff.pl

If you have only a limited amount of things setup in an older database - I would suggest starting off with a fresh database - not upgrade.

Good Luck

How do you use the mysqldiff, I installed mysqldiff on my server via WebHost Manager and can't seem to get it to work. How do I use the one that comes with OSC-Max?

you run it from the command line with this syntax:

perl mysqldiff.pl <options> dbname1 dbname2
