osCMax Installation Manual

Installation is no different than installing stock osCommerce MS2. It is a simple matter up uploading, unzipping, or un-taring the osCommerce archive on your server, moving the files where you want them, and running the installation script.

osCMax FAQ

Welcome to the osCMax FAQ. We have tried to cover all the basics here, as these questions come up very often:

Page layout and content

Page layout and content are controlled through the osCMax template system (BTS is what it is also called). When you want to modify your site template, you start by locating the main template file. For all default installations of osCMax, this is the location of the main template:

/catalog/templates/aabox/main_page.tpl.php

The main template controls the overall structure of your entire site. It determines the framework for all other content and every page on your site. This is the master template if you will.

This master template then loads the content and box sub-templates, and depending on where you place the tags that load the sub templates, you can modify your entire layout quite easily.

The Administrator section of the osCMax admin panel has several important functions. First, this is where you change the default login and password. Every osCMax install has the same default user name and password and you will want to change this before doing anything else. This is the section where you do it.
